Stability and evenness<\/strong><\/p>\n

Solid and flat are the two most important requirements for a tub base. The base must be strong enough to support a tub full of water and people, and it must be precisely leveled so that the water in the tub is level against the sides, not water higher on one side and lower on the other. This does not mean that preparing the base of the tub is therefore an expensive pleasure and that it must be made of such and such material… There are wide choices that ensure the same level of stability, while looking gorgeous in your yard or sauna area!<\/p>\n

Ideas for base material<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some popular material choices for a hot tub base include gravel, pavers, tile, and wood decking. The choice really depends on the taste of the owner and there is no one specific “right” material to choose. It is worth thinking about air circulation<\/strong><\/p>\n

If possible, it is best to install the tub slightly raised from the ground, so that air can freely circulate under it and moisture can evaporate. This is recommended regardless of the installation environment – in a shaded area or in direct sunlight. In Latvia’s ever-changing and relatively humid climate, there is a risk that algae and mold will start to form under the finishing boards if the tub is in a constant position for a long time without air circulation under it… But – fortunately – for tubs with fiberglass linings (which we make) is easily preventable if it also happens and air circulation is not thought about that much. Therefore, it is not necessary to worry about this very much. This is just a suggestion.<\/p>\n
